MANATEE -- Two brothers were arrested after an argument between the two turned into a drunken brawl early Friday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Elias Salinas, 50, and Rogelio Salinas, 53, were drinking at a residence in the 700 block of 64th Avenue Drive West, Bradenton , when they got into an argument about 3 a.m. The dispute became physical when Elias struck Rogelio in the nose with a closed fist, according to a report.
Rogelio fought back, picking up a baseball bat and chasing his brother. About a block away from the residence, Rogelio strikes Elias on the top of the head with the bat. Elias fell to the ground and Rogelio fled on foot, according to the report.
Responding deputies set up a perimeter and eventually located and arrested Rogelio, as well as Elias.
After receiving treatment for their injuries -- Elias for a cut to his head, Rogelio for a broken nose -- the brothers were taken to the Manatee County jail.
Elias Salinas was being held without bond on a charge of felony battery. Information about Rogelio Salinas was not immediately available.
