MANATEE -- A 13-year-old boy was arrested Wednesday afternoon after witnesses spotted him breaking into and leaving a Northwest Bradenton residence, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
The break-in happened about 1:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of 66th Street Northwest, Bradenton, according to a news release.
A deputy realized the witnesses' description matched a student he knew while a student resource officer at King Middle School. Deputies went to the boy's residence, which is also on 66th Street Northwest and during an interview admitted to the burglary, according to the sheriff's office.
The suspect took $20 in cash from a kitchen counter during the burglary.
