MANATEE -- Two men were arrested early Tuesday by deputies investigating a rash of vehicle burglaries nearby, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Several vehicles in the Glen Lakes subdivision were burglarized by someone opening unlocked doors. A resident called the sheriff's office about 4:30 a.m. when he saw two men looking into cars, according to a news release.
Deputies responding to the area saw two men, Angel Welborn, 18, and Michael Forbes, 20, running from behind a shopping plaza in the 3500 block of 53rd Avenue West.
"During the follow up investigation it was discovered that the pair had entered eight vehicles and two dwellings within the subdivision," a report states. "The property belonging to a majority of the victims was recovered along the path the pair fled."

The vehicles had been unlocked, and the suspects got into the residences by using garage door openers found in the vehicles, according to the sheriff's office.
Welborn and Forbes were in the Manatee County jail facing numerous burglary, theft and other charges. Welborn's bonds totaled $95,620 and Forbes' bonds totaled $58,120, according to the jail website.
