MANATEE -- Sheriff's deputies were investigating a report of a carjacking in Bradenton, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
The 27-year-old victim told deputies he was passing McKechnie Field about 7 p.m. Sunday when he saw a woman on the side of the road and stopped. She asked him for a ride to the 1600 block of Cortez Road, and when they got there, a man approached and pointed a silver revolver at him, according to a news release.
The gunman told the victim to get out of the van, and that he would be back in 30 minutes. Both suspects, the gunman and the woman, then fled the area.
The victim's wallet and cell phone were in the van, which was described as a white 1994 Dodge Ram 250, according to the sheriff's office.
The victim did not wait to see if the suspects returned. On Monday, he reported what happened to the sheriff's office.

The man was described as being in his 30s, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 200 pounds. He has stitches under one eye and was wearing a white shirt, shorts and a black cap.
