MANATEE -- A suspect in a May 15 stabbing in Bradenton has been arrested in North Carolina, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Fredy Rochael Lopez Cotton, 23, was arrested in Durham, N.C., on a charge of attempted murder. It was not known when he would be returned to Manatee County, according to a news release.
About 4:05 a.m. on May 15, the victim and Cotton got into an argument at a residence in the 3500 block of 20th Street West. During the argument, which possibly was about a cell phone, Cotton pulled a knife out of his pocket and stabbed the victim. He then fled on foot south on 20th Street West, according to a news release, and was not located.
