MANATEE - Air bags were taken from five unlocked vehicles parked at a local business Saturday morning, the sheriff’s office reports.
The incident occurred at Insurance Auto Auction, 1208 17th St. E., Palmetto, at about 12:20 a.m.
The suspects entered the locked and fenced property by cutting electric wires, a report said, and removed the air bags from unlocked vehicles.
An alarm on the property later went off, causing deputies to respond to the scene, the report said.

No one was found after a search was conducted; however, a hat and pipe insulations used by the suspects were found on the scene.
