PALMETTO -- A Bradenton man was arrested Friday morning after he allegedly robbed a McDonald's restaurant in Palmetto, according to the Palmetto Police Department.
Early Friday, a man later identified as Paul Mallia, 55, went through the drive-through of the restaurant, 699 10th St. E., as a passenger in a minivan. He jumped out of the van, ran up to the window, pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded money, according to a news release.
The employee complied, and after taking the cash, Mallia jumped back in the van, which was seen heading east on U.S. 301. No one was injured in the robbery.
A short time later, officers spotted the van and Mallia was arrested. He matched the suspect captured by a security camera, and the employee identified him as the suspect, according to police.
