MANATEE — They are just 18 and 17 and already had multiple items between them on their juvenile records.
Bradenton’s Markel D. Love, 18, is now an adult and has been arrested and charged with armed robbery after a four-man stick-up crew police say he was part of hit King Buffet Restaurant at 9:50 p.m . Wednesday.
Bradenton’s Troy Hodo, 17, the boy police say was with Love at King Buffet, would also have a felony on his juvenile record if convicted. He is considered a juvenile by law until age 18.
“Both of these young men have prior records that contain juvenile stuff,” said Dave Bristow, a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
Never miss a local story.
“He certainly has a permanent record started now,” Lt. Scott Tyler of the Palmetto Police Department said of Love. “This will show an arrest for armed robbery and whatever traffic charges the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office decides to add to it.”
Police, who on Friday had not yet found the other two members of the King Buffet stick-up crew, say Love and Hodo are also suspects in a string of 11 other armed robberies in Manatee County since March 23.
