MANATEE — A Bradenton 19-year-old was arrested for child endangerment after he drove a vehicle more than 100 mph with three minors in the car on State Road 64 in the 3000 block at 2:32 a.m.. Saturday.
None of the minors was wearing a seatbelt, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.
Once Brad Rouzier was stopped, a deputy noted that the 1994 Honda Rouzier was driving was missing lug nuts on both the front wheels, the left rear rim was completely cracked and parts of the vehicle were being held together by vice grips.
When asked why he was driving at such an excessive speed, Rouzier told deputies, “I was trying to downshift, but my car is falling apart.” The vehicle smelled of burnt oil, brakes and tires upon stopping, the report added.
