MANATEE -- A 32-year-old man was hit by a sheriff's deputy's Taser and arrested after he threatened two people, and himself, with knives, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Keith Van Der Wiele was at a residence in The Gardens Mobile Home Park in Parrish about 2:33 a.m. today, when he got into argument with two people, ages 48 and 66, he had been drinking with, according to a news release.
"At some point, Keith went into the kitchen and armed himself with two 8-inch knives," the news release states. "Keith returned to the porch and threatened the victims with the knives."
The victims called 911, and when deputies arrive, Van De Wiele grabbed a knife and began "making suicidal threats," according to the report.
That's when a deputy fired a Taser at Van De Wiele and took him into custody.
Van Der Wiele, who faces two counts of aggravated domestic assault, was being held without bond at the Manatee County jail.
