MANATEE -- A 60-year-old man who was attacked and robbed about 12:25 p.m. today near a bus stop, was found a short time later drinking at a nearby bar and bleeding from the head.
The victim was sitting on the ground at the MCAT bus stop in the 3900 block of 14th St. West when he was struck on the back of his head with an unknown object, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's Office report.
The victim saw an unknown male reach over his shoulder and snatch a dollar bill out of his hand. The robber fled southbound on foot. The victim attempted to get onto the Manatee county bus, but the bus driver refused to let him on board because he was bleeding. The bus driver called 911 to report the incident, according to the report.
The victim refused medical assistance and the bus driver continued his route.

Law enforcement responded to the area and searched unsuccessfully for the victim. At 1:09 p.m., the bar tender from Cheers called and advised that the victim was inside his bar drinking and bleeding from the back side of his head.
A deputy made contact with the victim who said he does not know the suspect, never saw him before, and couldn't identify him. The victim said that he will seek medical treatment for his injuries, according to the report.
