Authorities are investigating the death of a 3-year-old girl found at the bottom of pool while in the care of her 16-year-old cousin, according to Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.
The drowning is believed to be accidental, detectives say. Haily G. Nito-Hernandez and two other children, ages 2 and 6, were left in their 16-year-old cousin’s care.
At 10:24 a.m. Friday, deputies were called to a home in the 3200 block of Henrietta Place in Sarasota to a report of a drowning, according to a news release. The 3-year-old girl was found at the bottom of the swimming pool when deputies arrived.
Haily was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Along with the sheriff’s office, the Florida Department of Children and Families is investigating the drowning, according to the sheriff’s office.
