While working on improvements to a sewer system on a Bradenton street, a contractor hit a line and caused low water pressure to residents in the area.
The Manatee County project for sewer work shut down 51st Street West between 15th Avenue and 19th Avenue from Feb. 18 to April 26.
Resident Marilyn Young said their water pressure was reduced to a slight drip Monday morning and large amounts of water were running into the sewers in nearby streets.
Amy Pilson, public affairs liaison for the county utility system, said a contractor hit a line but the low water pressure shouldn't last long.
Never miss a local story.
"Repairs are being made," Pilson said. "The low pressure might last a bit but will return to normal as soon as repair is complete."
