MANATEE -- An informational public meeting focusing on the construction of the new Fort Hamer Bridge and associated road projects along Upper Manatee River and Fort Hamer roads is slated for Thursday, March 26.
The road projects are expected to begin this spring, and county staff members will be available to answer questions and provide information between 5-7 p.m. at the cafeteria at Haile Middle School, 9501 State Road 64, Bradenton, officials said.
There is no formal presentation; those interested may arrive any time between 5 and 7 p.m., but because of time restrictions set by the school, no one will be permitted in the building before 5 p.m.
The projects entail construction of a new, two-lane bridge over the Manatee River connecting Upper Manatee River Road on the south to Fort Hamer Road on the north.
Never miss a local story.
Roadway improvements are also being made on Upper Manatee River Road from S.R. 64 north to the newly constructed bridge, and on the Fort Hamer Road from the newly-constructed bridge north to Britt Road.
