John Krotec, volunteer coordinator and community outreach employee at the no-profit that oversees operations at Sarasota’s Nathan Benderson Park, has resigned.
Krotec, 55, of Sarasota, is quitting the $55,000 annual position to pursue a new business working with military veterans, he said Thursday.
“It’s just one of those life-changing decisions,” he said. “I’m leaving at a good time.”
Never miss a local story.
Krotec said he started helping as a volunteer coordinator at the multi-use sports park in 2009, but was hired as a full-time employee in April 2014 by the nonprofit Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates, which manages the park at 5851 Nathan Benderson Circle.
Krotec said he did not know what plans there might be to replace him.
Calls to SANCA offices were not immediately returned Thursday.
