BRADENTON — Officer Carrie Ward of the Bradenton Police Department has been named Female Officer of the Week.
Ward graduated from Lakewood Ranch High School in Bradenton and the Manatee Technical Institute Law Enforcement Academy for law enforcement certification.
Ward, a law officer since 2004, has worked for the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee and the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office in Bradenton.
In May 2010, Ward was hired by the BPD. Ward is assigned to the Patrol Division on the Riverwalk in downtown Bradenton. She also helps train and law enforcement officers.
She received an associate’s degree in literature from the State College of Florida and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree from the State College of Florida.
