MANATEE -- There has been low voting turnout throughout Manatee County since early voting opened Saturday.
Only 1,556 people have voted between Saturday and Tuesday, according to the Manatee County Elections Office. Election day is Aug. 26.
There are 210,334 registered voters in Manatee County, so only 0.74 percent of those registered have voted so far.
Early voting is open every day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Saturday. There are four early voting locations in Manatee County for this election that are open to all voters.
