MANATEE -- Power has been restored to an estimated 4,000 homes that lost power after a lightning strike at 6:51 p.m. Tuesday in El Conquistador in Manatee County, according to Florida Power & Light.
Florida Power & Light Co. spokeswoman Heather Kirkendall said crews quickly resolved the issue.
“We had a little more than 4,000 people out (of power) at 6:51 p.m., but within an hour we had most of the folks back on,” Kirkendall said over the phone just before 8 p.m. Tuesday.
A main line was scrambled by the strike, according to FP&L.

Power was restored by roughly 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to FP&L. An estimated 1,300 people were without power around 8 p.m., FP&L indicated.
