PALMETTO -- Manatee County officials Tuesday went line by line through revisions of the Land Development Code, which are designed to update it, and render it more user-friendly.
The Manatee County Commission and its advisory board, the Manatee County Planning Commission, considered proposed changes in the land code.
The more than 1,000-page document governs all development and use of land in unincorporated portions of the county.
"We're trying to simplify the process as much as we can," said John Barnott, director of county Building and Development Services, at the outset of the first of four workshops slated through Friday.
All are open to the public, and about a dozen onlookers joined the two official panels to observe at the Bradenton Area Convention Center.
