MANATEE — A final decision on a second version of development plans for a swath of Long Bar Pointe was postponed Thursday until Feb. 25.
Manatee County commissioners postponed a decision after they learned there was a minor error in the notice announcing Thursday’s public hearing.
At its next hearing about the property, the commission is expected to review a proposal for 200 single-family homes, which has already been tentatively OK’d by the Manatee County Planning Commission.
Residences are planned across 61.75 acres south of El Conquistador Parkway and west of existing homes on Champions Row Street.
Developers Cargor Partners VIII/Long Bar Pointe LLC of Bradenton are seeking approval of a preliminary site plan for the first phase of the project, facing Sarasota Bay in southwest Manatee County.
The developers’ previous plan to build on the property, which involved changes to the Manatee County Comprehensive Plan, was eventually withdrawn following vocal local protest.
