After a few chilly days in the Bradenton-Sarasota area, things are set to heat up again.
According to Bay News 9 meteorologist Diane Kacmarik, temperatures will get as high as the 80s starting today and extending through Monday.
Those temperatures could come close to record highs for the Tampa Bay area, Kacmarik said.
The next front will come through Monday night.
"A cooldown will follow, dropping temperatures to around normal," she said. "Any rains will finish up on Tuesday, so Christmas Day will be dry with lows near 50 degrees in Tampa Bay to near 40 for the Nature Coast."
The forecast still has Bay area residents dreaming of a warm Christmas, though, as afternoon highs will be in the low to mid-70s.
