HOLMES BEACH -- A multi-million dollar beach renourishment project could start in Holmes Beach as soon as Thursday, a county official said Monday.
The renourishment of the beaches along Anna Maria Island is expected to continue through next spring, said Charlie Hunsicker, the county's director of parks and natural resources.
He addressed a crowded Tourist Development Council meeting Monday.
Among the topics he discussed was how the beach renourishment project would take place along the central section of the island and what residents could expect later along the more southerly section at Coquina Beach.
