BRADENTON — The Florida Crime Prevention Association named Tami Spyker of Bradenton the 2013 Crime Prevention Volunteer of the Year during the 44th annual training conference Thursday at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota.
The award was presented by FCPA President Chip Wells of the St. Petersburg Police Department.
“The Bradenton Police Department congratulates Ms. Spyker for being named the recipient of this prestigious award,” said Bradenton Police Department Deputy Chief Warren Merriman in a press release. “It is quite remarkable Ms. Spyker has donated thousands of hours to her community without compensation, and continues to go above and beyond to ensure existing programs stay on track in addition to implementing new safety programs throughout Bradenton.
"Without doubt our community is better because of Ms. Spyker’s efforts.”
