SARASOTA - Flooding brought by heavy rains has forced Sarasota police to temporarily close U.S. 301 in downtown Sarasota and the circle at St. Armands Circle.
The streets have reopened, but police said there could be more closures since more rain is forecast for Monday.
"Officers are encouraging drivers, if you don’t have to be out driving, please stay off the roads." police said. "As always, if you see standing water, please don’t drive through it. Remember the saying, turn around and don’t drown."
