Forecasters were calling for partly sunny skies and a high near 89 and heat index values making it feel more like 98. Winds were expected from the west-southwest at 10 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. The chance of rain was 60 percent, with the best chance of storms occurring between 2 and 8 p.m.
Tuesday evening, the chance of rain was expected to stay at 60 percent. The expected low is around 75, according to the Weather Service.
