Troopers are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian overnight in Bradenton.
Around 10:14 p.m. Thursday, 44-year-old Daniel Marez, of Bradenton, was crossing U.S. 41 when he was struck by a metallic gold Ford, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The vehicle was missing a right headlight.
The vehicle was traveling northbound on U.S. 41 near 69th Avenue West when it struck Marez and took off, according to FHP.
Marez was taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to FHP.
