On Sunday, more than 72 million men in the U.S. will be celebrated for their role as fathers.
Or that’s how many should be celebrated, anyway, according to the most recent available data from the Census Bureau. Most kids think their dad wants a new tie, golf balls or a new fishing pole.
In reality, a day without the kids may be the best Father’s Day gift a man can get. Ebates, an online shopping rewards company, conducted a survey in which a whopping 87 percent of dad respondents said some alone time would do them good. And hey, some alone time would be a better gift than the 36 percent of people who responded to the survey and said they aren’t planning on getting anything for dad.
If your dad is a foodie and you live in the Bradenton area, you’re in luck. A few restaurants are seeking to capitalize on hungry dads:
Never miss a local story.
