Wichita-based Core Azure LLC has purchased 13 1/2 acres of vacant residential land at The Concession Golf Club in East Manatee, according to Manatee County records. The purchase price was $2.24 million.
Kevin Daves is the principal and manager of Core Azure. He was also the original project developer for The Concession, which opened in 2005 on 1,232 acres east of Lakewood Ranch.
The Concession was developed as a Jack Nicklaus Signature development with Bradenton resident and former British Open champion Tony Jacklin. The course takes its name from the 1969 Ryder Cup when Nicklaus conceded a putt to Jacklin. That gesture, known as "the concession," left the two teams in a tie and became known as one of the greatest acts of sportsmanship.
Virtually all of the recently sold property has a Lindrick Lane address at The Concession.
Selling the property was Concession 113 LLC, with offices at 7350 Point of Rocks Road, Sarasota. Vanguard Realtors is listed as manager of Concession 113. A representative of Core Azure in Wichita said The Concession lots would go back on the market.
