BRADENTON -- Pier 22 begins a $450,000 makeover Sunday, Aug. 30.
The celebrated downtown Bradenton restaurant known for its waterside dining and views and chef-driven cuisine, will update and upgrade interior decor, furniture, flooring, the kitchen and air systems. Pier 22 will continue to take reservations and special event bookings throughout the renovation and will reopen to the public Sept. 15.
Greg Campbell, restaurant executive chef, said he can hardly wait. The renovation includes state-of-the-art kitchen enhancements, an innovative new bar design, new flooring, lighting and furniture.
Diners will keep their cool, thanks to a new, high-tech air-conditioning system. The interior design was developed by Jon and Victoria Moore of Moore2 Design LLC, who will work closely with Campbell and Pier 22's owner, Hugh Miller, every step of the way.
Never miss a local story.
Campbell said he will also offer new cuisine selections for his fall menu while keeping all signature dishes. Campbell was honored as one of the country’s top culinary talents in the inaugural edition of Best Chefs America.
Located on the Manatee River on Bradenton’s historic Memorial Pier, Pier 22 offers indoor and al fresco dining with a seasonally focused menu that includes award-winning sushi, local fish, hand-cut prime steaks, and wild game. The venue also features multiple private dining rooms, an elegant ballroom, a casual patio, outdoor dining on the riverside terrace and provides offsite catering.
