Marissa Bressi has joined the marketing department at Manatee Sarasota Eye Clinic as the director of communications. Bressi, a longtime Manatee County resident, graduated from the University of Florida majoring in event management. Most recently, she worked as the special events coordinator for Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee. She will be responsible for coordination of advertising for the practice.
Bressi represents all five offices throughout Manatee and Sarasota counties, as well as Sun City Center in Hillsborough.
The Florida Association of Chamber Professionals honored Jacki Dezelski, executive vice president of the Manatee Chamber of Commerce, as Florida's top chamber of commerce professional for her outstanding achievement and dedication to the industry. Having served the chamber's members for nearly two decades, Dezelski epitomizes the servitude, leadership and team concept all chamber professionals should strive toward, according to the award presentation.
Susan Humphreys has been chosen for the second consecutive year as a Top 100 ProAdvisor for QuickBooks from more than 100,000 ProAdvisors internationally.
Chris Braun has been named manager of programming for the Women's Resource Center of Manatee. Braun was the resident services manager of a nonprofit independent, assisted living and memory care community in Michigan before moving to Florida last year. During this time she also volunteered at her local women's center.
The State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota, boasts five National Institute for staff and organizational development award recipients. Suzanne Bechtol, instructor and program manager, paralegal/legal assisting; Robyn Bell, assistant professor, music; Joe Loccisano, SCF Fine Art Gallery manager; Nancy Stults, lab coordinator, natural sciences; and Kristen Zaborski, assistant professor, business and technology, were recognized at the 2015 International Institute Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence last week.
