MANATEE -- Delta Airlines in February will launch Saturday service between Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, SRQ officials announced Wednesday morning.
The once-a-week round trip will run from Feb. 14 through April 4.'
"We are thrilled that Delta has decided to add New York JFK service," said Fredrick J. Piccolo, chief executive officer at SRQ. "The flights to JFK will provide opportunities to connect passengers to additional destinations, both domestically and internationally."
Delta already serves SRQ with year-round daily service to Atlanta and LaGuardia airport in New York. It also provides seasonal service to Detroit.
The new flight will depart JFK for Sarasota-Bradenton at 8:30 a.m. and arrive at 11:50 a.m.
It will depart for New York at 12:30 p.m. and arrive at 3:20 p.m.
Delta will use a 76-seat CRJ-900 aircraft for the flights.
