EAST MANATEE -- A 1,400-acre Myakka City farm along Clay Gully Road was sold to 4 Star Tomato for $4.75 million.
The purchase of the agricultural land along Clay Gully Road was essentially a family transaction. The sellers were Gary, Leland, Brent and Bruce Schackelford and 4 Star Tomato lists its officers as Bruce and Leland Schackelford as well as Christopher Sundin.
Two mortgages from Wauchula State Bank worth a combined $2.3 million were used to finance the deal, according to property records. The sale was recorded July 28, according to property records.
The land was advertised as Diamond Z Ranch for $7 million with Coldwell Banker Commercial Saunders Real Estate agents. The crops include tomato, potato and strawberries, according to the listing.

In July, 4 Star Tomato sold 650 acres of cropland in Parrish along County Road 675 for $5.25 million to John Falkner of Falkner Farms.
