MANATEE — Fifteen restaurant operations, including six in Manatee County, will participate in the second annual “Stick a Fork in Cancer” fundraising campaign Tuesday to benefit the American Cancer Society.
Participating restaurants will donate at least 20 percent of their proceeds to the American Cancer Society, said Eden Clark of the American Cancer Society.
Proceeds will go to life-saving research and provide local services to those facing cancer, Eden added.
In Manatee County, Sweet Tomatoes, 5407 University Parkway, is participating. Others include Full Belly Stuffed Burgers, 8742 State Road 70 E., Lakewood Ranch; and Chick-fil-A, Cortez Plaza, Cortez Road and U.S. 41. At Chick-fil-A, from 5-8 p.m., diners must say: “I’m here for American Cancer Society.”
Evie’s, 5897 Whitfield Ave., is also staging the event from 5-8 p.m., Eden said.
Chili’s, 6125 Exchange Way, Lakewood Ranch, is participating as well as Ruby Tuesday in Cooper Creek, 8306 Tourist Center Dr. and in Ellenton, 5802 20th St. E.
Diners choosing Chick-fil-A, Chili’s and Ruby Tuesday are asked to visit facebook.como/stickaforkincancermidcoast to print required flyers, Eden said.
Sarasota restaurants include Althea’s Restaurant, 220 W. Miami Ave., Venice; Ashley’s Food Delivery (visit WeDeliverSarasota.com, 941-953-3663), Bimini Bar & Grill, 576 Blackburn Point Road, Osprey; and Bentley’s Homemade Ice Cream, 2357 Tamiami Trail S., Venice (50 percent proceeds).
Additionally in Sarasota County: Café Venice, 116 W. Venice Ave., Venice; Dutch Valley Restaurant, 6721 S Tamiami Trail, Sarasota; and Evie’s, 4735 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota, all from 5-8 p.m.
Also in Sarasota County: Half Shell Seafood House, 5231 University Parkway; Nancy’s BAR-B-Q, 301 S. Pineapple Ave., Sarasota; and Osprey Tiki Bar & Grill, 1660 Tamiami Trail S., Osprey.
Yo Fresh Yogurt Café, 4197 S Tamiami Trail, Venice; Chili’s, 5851 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota; and Ruby Tuesday, Sarasota Square, 8201 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota are also joining in.
