UNIVERSITY PARK -- Eclectic menswear designer Robert Graham will be bringing his retail store to the Mall at University Town Center.
The company filed for a building permit Thursday with Sarasota County.
The store is a mix of the founder's name, Robert Stock, and the inspiration of French designer Graham Fowler. Stock had partnered with Ralph Lauren and worked in the fashion industry for 40 years before going on his own, getting his men's and women's shirts in Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom before launching his flagship store in 2010.
The University Park store would be only the 12th Robert Graham store in the country, but the third in Florida. Robert Graham also has stores in
Boca Raton and Palm Beach Gardens.
Robert Graham adds to the list of high fashion stores coming to the Mall at University Town Center, which also includes Calypso St. Barth, Brooks Brothers, Tommy Bahama and others. Anchors include Apple, Crate & Barrel, H&M, Dillard's, Saks Fifth Avenue and Macy's.
The two-level, 880,000- square-foot mall is expected to open Oct. 16 on Cattlemen Road and University Parkway.
