LAKEWOOD RANCH -- If the turnout was any indication, the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance has a promising future as the master-planned community continues to grow and prosper.
More than 300 people turned out to cut the ribbon at the grand opening of LWRBA's new headquarters at 8430 Enterprise Circle in Lakewood Ranch, the home of MGA Insurance, a founding company of the alliance.
"We're at such an interesting point of growth for our organization. With the approval of Lakewood Ranch South and the new mall at University Parkway coming soon, we are at a critical corridor in Manatee and
Sarasota counties," said David Fink, incoming chairman of the alliance and a wealth manager for Rogan & Associates.
Along with a new location, the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance has a new executive director in Heather Kasten, who formerly worked for the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce.
Kasten said she is focused on growing LWRBA membership, its sponsors, and bringing more value to the organization as a whole.
Her former boss, Steve Queior, president of the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, said Kasten is the right person for the job.
"A two-county footprint is important to us all. Heather can see it both ways. We can all draw on the talent from both regions of the Sun Coast. The sum of the parts is its total," Queior said.
Chairwoman Annette Gueli also celebrated the end of her term on the LWRBA Board.
