MANATEE -- A plumbing company that also specializes in container gardening systems has relocated near DeSoto Square mall and will open its showroom next week.
VizCo purchased the former Suncoast Workforce office at 3500 9th St. W in January for $1.27 million where it will show off its SimGar container gardening system.
A grand opening for the 25,000-square-foot facility is planned from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 6 and 7 and will include giveaways, promotions and free food and drinks. Regular hours after the grand opening will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday and the company hopes to offer Saturday hours in the future.
"As a Bradenton resident for over 30 years, I'm thrilled for the opportunity to invest in the economy of our community. Our company believes strongly in the growth potential of the Bradenton area," said company founder and president Chris Cantolino in a news release. "SimGar, our flagship line of consumer products, has already begun to attract customers to the Midtown Manatee district from all over the Tampa Bay region. We appreciate the pro-active assistance we have received from Manatee County Government and the Rapid Response Permitting Program to help us get up and running as quickly as possible."
The company previously leased space on Parkland Drive in Whitfield before moving to another part of unincorporated Manatee closer to Bradenton.
The showroom space is also planned to be a gardening hub where it will offer gardening clinics, a produce market and more.
The container gardening systems feature a two level kit where water is stored in a bottom container and pumped to the plants in the top containers, using solar energy. The units cost $130 to $180 and the top two models have wheels allowing the containers to easily be moved.
"VizCo's continued investment in expanding business operations in the Bradenton area is welcome news," said Sharon Hillstrom, president and chief executive officer of the Bradenton Area Economic Development Corp in a news release. "The Bradenton area has a long history of innovation in agricultural technology. VizCo's SimGar system is poised to become part of that legacy as the company sells the product outside the local market, bringing new wealth into the community. Such 'value-added' businesses are essential to creating a more diverse local economy."
