C1 bank to open first Sarasota location
SARASOTA -- C1 Bank, a Florida regional bank known for illuminating its buildings in green light at night, will open its first Sarasota County branch Wednesday.
The new office will be the 28th location opened by the St. Petersburg-based bank. It is located at 1519 Main St. in downtown Sarasota.
C1 will now have locations in eight Florida counties, according to its website. Manatee County is home to three locations. Manatee branches are located in Lakewood Ranch, West Bradenton and on State Road 70 near the Braden River.
Trevor Burgess, the bank's CEO, said the new location brings the banks services to a well-established clientele.
"This Main Street Sarasota location provided us with a prime opportunity to open a flagship location officially in Sarasota itself," he said.
Burgess said C1 has been planning the 2,950-square foot branch for several years.
The bank reported a net income of $12.2 million in 2013. Its total assets were $1.32 billion as of the end of the year, according to the company's website. The company employed a total of 219 people by the end of 2013.
The bank's origins go back to Community Bank of Manatee, which opened its doors in 1995. Burgess and three other investors recapitalized that bank in December 2009 and changed the bank's name to C1 Bank.
