UNIVERSITY PARK -- The restaurant lineup for the Mall at University Town Center is complete now that the Zinburger Wine & Burger Bar applied for a building permit Thursday.
The upscale burger bar is a creation of Phoenix-based Fox Restaurant Concepts, which oversees 15 various restaurant brands with clever names such as The Arrogant Butcher and Culinary Dropout. Zinburger is a relatively young brand, created in 2007. Zinburger's website boasts hand-cut zucchini, sweet potato and truffle fries and handcrafted burgers and its special shakes of the week. The cheeky upscale burger bar logo features a cow sporting burgundy spots while drinking a glass of red wine.
Zinburger has three locations in Arizona and is undergoing a franchise expansion to Florida, including locations in Boca Raton and Sunrise, plus restaurants planned for Atlanta, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina and Virginia. Construction of the University Park restaurant is estimated to cost $500,000, according to the building application.
Zinburger rounds out the Mall at UTC's restaurant lineup that includes BRIO Tuscan Grille, Capital Grille, Cheesecake Factory, Kona Grill and

Season's 52, all of which will have direct access from outside the mall. The mall also has a seventh restaurant, Sophie's, that will feature a swanky dining room inside Saks Fifth Avenue. The University Park Sophie's will be just the second one for Saks. The first opened earlier this year at Saks Fifth Avenue Chicago.
The 880,000-square-foot mall is being built on the corner of Cattlemen Road and University Parkway and is expected to open Oct. 16. The $315 million mall is a partnership between Michigan-based Taubman Centers and University Park's Benderson Development Co.
