Andrew Bers of Re/Max Alliance Group has been awarded the Accredited Buyer’s Representation designation by the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council of the National Association of Realtors.
Bers joins more than 30,000 real estate pro- fessionals in North America who have earned the ABR designation. All were required to complete a comprehensive course in buyer representation and an elective course focusing on a buyer representation specialty, both in addition to submitting documentation verifying professional experience.

William Bullock and Steve Svopa have been appointed as regional vice presidents of Minto Communities. In their new roles within the organization, Bullock will oversee the daily operations of Minto’s West Central Florida division in Tampa and Svopa will oversee the Southeast Florida division in Coconut Creek.
Bullock joined Minto in 2009 as a vice president after a successful career with Kolter Land Partners, Stock Development and Centex Homes. Svopa joins Minto with more than 15 years of homebuilding experience through several management positions with Centex Real Estate Corp and Pulte Group. He will be responsible for directing the company’s Southeast daily operations, which Minto currently develops and builds from South Broward County to Port St Lucie.
Patricia “Pat” Anderson, client file specialist at Meals on Wheels PLUS, celebrated 20 years of service. The board of directors recognized her accomplishment with a plaque and commemorative pin.

Diana L. Riser has been appointed associate publisher for Sarasota Magazine and Biz (941). Riser is relocating from Boca Raton where she has served for several years as associate publisher of Boca Raton Magazine and its affiliate, Salt Lake City Magazine. Prior to that, Riser was an account manager for several American Express Publishing titles.

Thomas Crisp, assistant professor of reading in the college of education at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee, has received the Marguerite Cogorno Radencich Award honoring Florida’s Outstanding Teacher Educator in Reading.
The award is given by the Florida Reading Association to one faculty member per year who is an innovator and leader making substantial contributions in the field of reading education.

Bradley spoke on tax reduction techniques during the program. The event, sponsored by Tidemark Financial, is designed to show women easy and practical ways to improve their financial well-being and health. The event benefited Meals on Wheels Plus of Manatee.
Dr. Richard S. Duckworth and Nicholas Gladding will serve on Doctors Hospital’s board of trustees.
Duckworth is board certified in internal medicine and has been practicing in Sarasota for 29 years. He was one of the founding members of Intercoastal Medical Group. He currently serves as the chairman of Intercostal’s Quality Improvement Committee and is a member of the American College of Physicians.
Gladding is an experienced environmental lawyer with the regional law firm of Adams and Reese, LLP. He was appointed to the Florida Energy and Climate Commission and was named a volunteer “Point of Light” for his work on energy issues. He has served as a member of the Steering Committee of the Florida Energy Systems Consortium and as a member of the Policy Board of the Florida Solar Energy Center.
Director Iain Webb will remain with The Sarasota Ballet at least through the 2016-17 season. Webb, who has just completed his fourth season, was offered a contract extending his leadership of the Sarasota Ballet for six more years.
