The University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee has announced the appointment of Cihan Cobanoglu as interim dean of the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management. Cobanoglu has earned 12 research awards and written 36 refereed papers and six books. He starts Aug. 7 and succeeds SHRM’s founding dean, Jay Schrock, who helped to start the program in 2002.
Geri Kenyon, a Realtor with Kenyon Real Estate, has been recognized with an Emeritus CRS designation, honoring her for 20 years of exceptional service and membership with the Council of Residential Sales.
Two principals of CS&L CPAs have been appointed to boards for local community foundations. Richard Smith has been chosen to serve on the board for the Community Foundation of Sarasota, and Lisa Johnson has been chosen to serve on the Manatee Community Foundation.
Grady Enlow, formerly an associate director with Florida State University, has been named deputy director of the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art. Enlow will oversee financial and budgeting strategies and assist with funding and grant proposals. Enlow holds a master of business administration degree from Florida State University and a bachelor of arts in theology from Columbia International University in South Carolina.
Anita Robles has been hired as executive recruiter for HHStaffing in Bradenton. Robles has more than 12 years of experience in manufacturing, technical, professional and administrative recruiting.
John W. Bowen, attorney for the Manatee County School District, has become one of only nine practicing school board attorneys in Florida to receive a board certification in education law. The certification requires the highest possible level of evaluation. Bowen has been the school board’s attorney since 2005.
Mark Tierney, a health care executive with 32 years of experience, has been named chief financial officer of the Manatee Healthcare System. Tierney was formerly the chief financial officer at Aiken Regional Medical Centers in South Carolina.
Danny Smith has been appointed the executive director of the Florida West Coast RC&D Council. Smith, who has a bachelor’s degree in soils and land from the University of Florida, will oversee the council’s strategic planning and financial development.
Take Care Private Duty Home Health Care, a private duty home health agency, has added the following specialists to its field staff: Sandra Holt and Elima Noelus, certified nursing assistants; and Carolina Verbert and Amanda Gorski, home health aides.
Marjorie Broughton, president of Rock Solid Construction Group, Inc., was named 2011 Woman Entrepreneur of the Year by the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce. Broughton started the company in 2005.
