Floridians who own certain 2001 to 2003 model year Hondas or Acuras could have a potentially deadly Takata airbag inflator, according to a Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles press release.
At no cost to the owner, the department, as well as both Honda and Acura, urged that anyone with those cars should go to an authorized dealer to replace their airbag.
The department sent notices last month to owners who were most affected.
Honda and Acura owners can check for recalls by entering their vehicle identification number, or VIN, located in the top left corner of the car’s dashboard, into the VIN check on www.safercar.gov.
Consumers can call 1-888-234-2138 for repair information.
