MANATEE — Three teenagers were arrested Sunday evening after one of them shot at a group of people with whom they had been arguing. A 23-year-old man suffered a small laceration when he was shot in the thigh, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
The shooting happened about 6:20 p.m. at a residence in the 500 block of 60th Avenue East.
The three teens got into an argument with the residents and threatened to shoot them, according to a sheriff's office news release. They returned a short time later, and one of the teens opened fire.
In addition to hitting the man in the thigh, bullets shattered a window in a pickup truck parked nearby.
The teens — the alleged shooter is 14, and the other two suspects are each 15 — were arrested a short time later while they were walking down Fifth Street East, according to the sheriff's office. Witnesses identified them as being involved in the shooting, according to the sheriff's office.
