Wares Creek and the Palma Sola Causeway are two city of Bradenton locations targeted for a cleanup Saturday.

The sites are included in the Great American Cleanup, scheduled from 9-noon at various locations throughout Manatee County

Volunteers are encouraged to dress prepared for a wet and dirty job. Wear long pants, close-toed shoes and sunscreen. Gloves will not be available on site, so volunteers should bring their own.

Residents of the Historic Wares Creek Neighborhood Association are asking volunteers to meet at the Bradenton Woman’s Club, 1705 Manatee Ave. W., to sign in. Volunteers will receive bags, debris pickers, juice, bottled water and reflective vests.

Students helping with the cleanup can earn community service hours. Ward 3 City Councilman Patrick Roff will be on site signing Community Service Certificates for Wares Creek volunteers.
