2012 is shaping up to be warmest year on record in Texas

Barring a late December cold snap, North Texas is on track to have its warmest year on record. Earlier this month, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said 2012 was "likely" to be the warmest year on record for the Continental U.S. based on weather data through the end of November.
