A low pressure area is forming that will bring gusty winds and heavy rain to Florida this weekend, according to Bay News 9 meteorologists.
The exact track of the surface low isn’t known. Some models have it moving up through the Atlantic Coast of the state and up toward the Carolinas by early next week.
“This would bring torrential rains and strong winds to our east coast but just occasional showers/thunderstorms and some wind in the Tampa Bay viewing area,” said Bay News 9 Chief Meteorologist Mike Clay. “Other models have the low coming up into the Gulf of Mexico, which would bring a significant increase in our chance of heavy rain and wind as well as the risk of severe weather.”
These models have the low drifting into north Florida but not until Tuesday.
