MANATEE -- No injuries were reported following a shooting Friday morning in Manatee, the sheriff’s office reports.
The 19-year-old victim was in her vehicle with three friends when an unknown type of gold-colored sedan began driving behind her at about 4:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of 44th Avenue East, a media release said.
Six shots were fired at the back of the victim’s vehicle, said Sgt. Isaac Redmond. The victims didn’t get a clear enough view of the suspect to give a description to deputies.
“All they were able to tell us was it was a four-door sedan,” he said.
The incident wasn’t reported until Friday night after the 19-year-old victim’s parents found out about the incident, Redmond said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (941) 747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at (866) 634-TIPS.
