BRADENTON -- About $15 million in consulting fees, salary cuts for board members and reviews of other financial issues compile are being considered by school officials during this morning’s budget workshop.
The meeting is currently taking place at the district’s administrative office on Manatee Avenue.
The full board is not present to review School Superintendent Tim McGonegal’s $14 million budget cut proposal. Board Vice chairman Harry Kinnan and member Barbara Harvey are absent. Board Chair Robert Gause, board members Julie Aranibar and Karen Carpenter attended with McGonegal.
Gause said the whole workshop was planned to answer questions and settle concerns.
Aranibar’s main concerns were: the health insurance deficit, exorbitant consulting fees and properly using resources.
