RIVER CLUB -- An 8-year old girl playing in her front yard in the 9000 block of Cherry Hills Ave. Circle in East Manatee reported a suspicious incident at approximately 4:10 p.m. Thursday, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports.
A vehicle pulled up in front of the residence, the driver pointed at the girl and asked her to come to his vehicle because he had something for her. The girl refused and ran towards the front door.
The driver exited the vehicle and approached the house but apparently heard the girl call for her mother and fled the area, the sheriff's report said.
The neighborhood was immediately searched by several sheriff's units with negative results. There were no witnesses other than the girl. The driver is described as a 30-35-year-old male, standing 6-foot-2 to 6-foot-3 with a medium build, short black hair and gold teeth, wearing a gold necklace, a small hoop earring in his right ear, a dirty white T-Shirt and blue jeans. He was driving an older model white square-looking 2-door truck with rust around the wheel wells. The bed of the truck had a wooden chair with an "x" spray painted on the back of it. It was tied down with rope.
The passenger was a skinny male in his mid 20s with long shoulder-length brown hair and a mustache. He was wearing a white tank top undershirt.
