Scooter the Chihuahua is on the mend, and his medical bills have been covered thanks to donations from the public.
As a result of the publicity, more money was received than was needed for Scooter's bills, and the balance will be put toward other animals in need, Sue Kolze of the Animal Network Inc. wrote in an email this morning. Scooter is at the vet for the additional surgery this morning, and hopefully will be back at home within the next couple of days. The little dog, which was on a chain in her backyard at the time of the attack by a loose pit bull, suffered a badly broken and dislocated front leg.
Animal Network also has a Pet Emergency Fund at M&I Bank in Ellenton that’s used for local pet medical emergencies. To donate to this fund, send a check payable to “Animal Network 501(c)3’s Pet Emergency Fund” to Animal Network Vice President Sue Kolze, 610 Ixora Ave, Ellenton, 34222
