MANATEE -- Motorists can expect road closures on Manatee Avenue starting Saturday and lasting until Thursday, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
The nightly closure will stretch from Third Street West to Seventh Street West from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. as crews remove asphalt, resurface the roadway, install new water lines and other work. Periodic lane closures will occur while crews work on this project.
To lesson delays motorist are advised to follow the suggested detour routes, according to FDOT.
There will be advance warning signs, electronic message boards, barricades and flaggers to assist motorists, and FDOT urges drivers to use caution and obey the posted speed limit of 35 mph when going through, expect possible delays and seek alternate routes whenever possible.
